not the worst in history, the worst right fielder to amass over 3 thousand AB. get back with me when you learn why the stats you are using are not descriptive. frenchy is worse than replacement level. learn what that means.
ok, i will get you started: Career Leaders & Records for On-Base Plus Slugging - Baseball-Reference.com that is over 1000 players organized by OPS. OPS is very important. remember, that list isnt just active players, there are over a thousand guys on the list, dating back to the 1800's through the deadball era. frenchy playedd through the steroid era, where offense ruled. there are no active outfielders worse than him. he is number 961. many of the worse players have names like happ or snuffy and played in the 1880's. he has been an unmitigated disaster except for his first half season, because pitchers didnt realize he swings at everything. again, i was 100% correct. he is absolutely terrible and there is mountains of evidence to support me. his career OPS+ is 91! 91! and he is a right fielder, not a catcher or a defensive shortstop. a right fielder! absolutely indefensible.
cant you respond to my awesome frenchy argument? keep in mind we are talking about a player with a career OPS+ well under 100. career obp .310! again, absolutely indefensible. in case you are not aware, the basic stat most closely correlated with run production is OBP. people like OPS, but the OBP is 2x as important as the the slug%. A RIGHT FIELDER! they are supposed to hit, not be worse than basically every player on the AAA squad.
So now your argument is he is only the worst RIGHT FIELDER ever to play the game. Well at least you calmed down quite a bit. I guess I succeeded to some degree here. I will grant you that he may indeed be the least disciplined player I have ever seen at the plate.
learn to read. please pay attention, i said the worst "regular" RF and always said that and always specifically saying RF. that means a guy who plays daily, and has a real career. so he is not the worst ever to set foot on a field. there have been worse, but they were sent to the minors almost immediately. a CF is of course held to a lower offensive standard because he plays a more demanding defensive position. he is worse than almost all of those too, though. not to any degree whatsoever. i have changed nothing about my argument and you have not succeeded at all, in fact you have failed terribly. i am incredibly right and everything you said was misleading and stupid. his numbers are exactly as i stated, atrocious. historically terrible. he is a living, walking monument to the fact that even baseball many executives have almost no understanding of the game, especially former mets GM omar minaya. minaya has been replaced by sandy alderson, who, if he posted here, would find my condemnation of frenchy to be not nearly severe enough, alderson of course has an understanding of why OBP is so crucial. everyone who understands that would never let frenchy near their roster, as he is literally worse than replacement level, meaning a virtually unlimited number of players that cost nothing would be better. he is a complete and utter destroyer of a baseball team, and has been, for thousands and thousand of AB.
