If LSU and USC win out, there will be an uproar and chaos. Consider the following: USC lost to Cal (unranked) LSU lost to Florida (ranked Top 15) PAC 10 vs. SEC strength of conference SEC has a conference championship game (probably against a Top 10 opponent) Strength of Schedule is bullsh!t...goes off wins and losses. SEC beats up on one another. BCS quality wins (has USC played a ranked BCS team except Wash St?) USC is the MEDIA'S choice to play OU...LSU still gets no respect from anyone. I am hoping USC loses, but then there may be an issue with Ohio St..........
Ohio State lost to a sub-par but Top 25 ranked Wisconsin team. I also think that if Ohio State wins their remaining games, including Michigan, I think they have a right to say that they have at least as much right to the NC game as LSU does. What will push LSU over the top is an SEC title. An SEC Champion versus the Big XII Champion. Even if this does not happen, aren't all of you just licking your chops at the thought of a BCS Bowl and getting to pistolwhip some poor unsuspecting team worse than we handled up on the Fighting Illini in 2001? Trust me fellas, it's gonna be a great year no matter what ends up happening. It's been a wild ride, with my father and I sitting down and actually cheering for crazy teams like Pittsburgh, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M (Just a tad, I admit!), Clemson, and anyone who's been playing USC (they were off this weekend). Just makes you realize how great the game of college football is, and what a letdown Sundays and their endless moronic posturing and posing becomes after you see all the pageantry and heart being laid on the line on Saturdays...
7 LSU 4 4 4 8 8 8 6 8 9 7 7.50 63 2.52 1 14.92 Focus on the rules, chaos is order. New BCS should go like this LSU 3 3 3 4 4 4 3 4 3 4 3.75 57 2.25 -.5 =====8.5 Just under "9" BCS points in the new ranking. In the end, when OSU gets beat and it's just USC & LSU, we'll have to get below 7 points where USC currently is located. LSU may get enough points to do it. They will have to impress the pollsters, the computer polls and take it "to the house". No more nice whippings and calling off the dawgs ... time to really "LAY THE PINE" on opponents. LSU can get this job done. Do the players want it enough and can they keep up the discipline? A final BCS poll might look like this LSU 2 3 2.5 3 3 3 2 3 2 3 2.80 25 1.5 -.5 ======6.3
It works out like this: If USC wins out, they will be 11-1 with just TWO wins over ranked teams. Moreover, their loss was to an unranked Cal Team. If LSU wins out, we will be 12-1 with FIVE wins over ranked teams. Moreover, our loss was to a ranked UF team.
NO!! If LSU wins out including the SEC CG I will be satisfied by nothing less than a Sugar Bowl date with Oklahoma. I already hate the BSC system but if LSU ends up rated 3rd by the BCS I will feel like they were screwed out of a shot at the National Title.
I see your point. But, BCS and all that shit is pretty much a popularity contest. Notice how Miami lost and was still ahead of us in the BCS.
I get my numbers from the current polls. This polls this week are critical to LSU chances of getting to a Magic number of "6" or less, what it should take to reach the NC game. Let's hope LSU goes below 9 points and maybe into 3rd BCS. We'll be #3 AP/ESPN.
