Honestly, I haven't been real impressed with Florida's running backs for a few years now. That includes Ciatrick Fason--just didn't see him as anything special. Looked like your standard, SEC running back, but I don't think he could have started at 6 schools in the SEC.... Having said that, the running game isn't a high-point in Gator country, nor is it soemthing their fans look at and say, "Man! We need to run the ball more!" No...that attitude changed when Dark Visor took the helm and brought in his "fun-n-gun". Florida with a running game is like Nebraska with a passing game: They both could happen, but it just doesn't look/feel right. Long gone are the days of Emmitt Smith and Eric Rhett... and personally, I'm GLAD!!! I want them as one-dimensional as possible. :thumb:
Florida lost Ciatrick Fason the Gators best RB and their best football player in LB Channing Crowder. On top of that Meyer has changed Chris Leak's throwing motion....I'm sorry but I just don't get the coronation of Pope Urban...especially since he's never coached a down in the SEC after coming from the very weak Mountain West.
Urban "Bradsky" Meyer broke the record for the highest cannonball when he jumped from the International Space Station into the Indian Ocean.
The key to the Florida offense will be speed at the RB position. The spread option doesnt really call for an all-around back or a power back, it calls for a speed, slashing type back with good vision. My question to the media about Florida is how are they going to compete after the first SEC game when an SEC caliber LB gives Leak a concussion after he tries to run the option.
Havn't you realized yet? It doesn't matter because they have Urban Meyer!... If he needs to, HE WILL RUN IT!
