I am still a little fuzzy on the new standards for the NBA draft. I'm not even gonna get into whether i think Tyrus is ready or not, but can he get into the draft this year or does he still have one year to go....if he wanted to go.
SHHHHHH!!!! You shall not speaketh of TT (or BBaby for that matter) and draft... :hihi: :hihi: Seriously tho', if we keep both of them one more year, with D.Mason and Terry Martin Jr. in the wings... wow, that would be a great season (with UConn coming to OUR house, and other big games?)!
What, does Glen Davis not exist anymore? Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely love to see both of them return...but I can't believe I didn't see Big Baby's name on the mock draft list.
he's really limited because he cant jump. would get schooled by most nba 4s and 5s because of height. would get stuffed alot on O because of height and lack of hops. really needs to have great touch and post moves to score in nba. needs solid 15-18 ft jump shot too. needs two more years before shot at lottery.
Hmmm... at some level I'd agree with you, but heck I'm a big Big Baby fan. Glen seemed to do alright against taller competition this year, while drawing most of the attention (remember most teams are doubling Glen and that's allowing Tyrus many of his easy points). Glen played against Armstrong and Boone of Uconn (6'11" and 6'10") both likely NBA prospects and had 12 and 10 with constant doubles and like 6 assists. Glen played well against Arkansas' 7 footer Hill. And he manhandled UTenn's 6'10" post player. Now agree his hops will keep taller more athletic forwards in the League able to block his shots, but that's why he needs at least one more year to lose a few more pounds and work on his low post moves using his bulk. Glen's impressed me with his array of spin moves, drop steps and hooks that he's using in the lane. I'd still think he's got a good future in the NBA. As for Tyrus, he's got great raw ability, but he's got some work to do. I'm not sure I'd take him at number 6 or 7 if I were a NBA franchise... too many folks get burned by the "potential" argument (e.g., Stro' still hasn't developed his game to be a legit #2 pick). Great article in the Times Picayune on Tyrus though... sound like he's somewhat level headed... let's hope he stays that way at the end of the season. http://www.nola.com/lsu/t-p/basketball/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/11373064266860.xml
