With some of the original SR seeds not making it out of their regionals, how are the seedings for the CWS determined? Does LSU take Rice's seed WHEN (not if) we make it to the CWS?
Going off a bracket off the NCAA website... Looking for a link.. Anyways, he first round of CWS games will go as follows: Texas vs Arkansas/Florida St winner Georgia vs Long Beach St/Arizona winner S. Carolina/E. Carolina winner vs Tulane/Cal St. Fullerton winner LSU/aTm winner vs Florida/Miami winner
Here we go: http://www.ncaasports.com/images/ncaasports/brackets/d1_base_bracket_2004.pdf Not certain if the teams are seeded at all... Basically the first round pairings are pre-determined based on whichever regions the teams win. From there, they simply play it out. I do know that in recent years I have seen the teams who are top 8 seeds have their seeding alongside the team name in scores during the coverage while those teams non-seeded do not.
Just like the Women's CWS. Arizona State didn't make it, so the team that came out of that regional, Oklahoma, didn't have a seed next to their name.
Man going up against Miami in game 1 is a tough draw. The only other tougher team to play would be Texas. Does Miami have a dominant ace?
I don't know much about Miami's pitching staff but if the rest of it is like what I saw today against Florida, you gotta like your chances. One exception: Keep that closer off the field.
After yesterday's Florida vs Miamis game I am not impressed with Miami. It that was their #1 starter we will score 10 plus on them. Florida gave them that game yesterday. I think Florida beats them in 3 games.
