Is Sexton still encouraging Nick to stay as you reported earlier?

I know Saban declined th Dolphins official offer thursday night. WH/wells Fargo has now thrown him close to $6 to $7 mill a year if you believe a few reports around town. Saban and Sexton probably can't believe this guy won't take no for an answer.

I can't answer your question because the original offer was for much less. It's quite obvious Saban wants to stay at LSU...

How much $$$$$$$$$$$$ will it take?

    The TAF annuity/raise will help

The reports about players being notified by asst's last night were false. We shall see soon enough......

I still say Nick stays.......Could you imagine passing up that kinda cash? Our coach is some loyal, imo.

WH through the bank out there as a last ditch effort.

I get chill bumps when I go to Tiger Stadium. My kids get chill bumps at Tiger Stadium. If someone offered me several million and it meant I couldn't be in Tiger Stadium...Id pass on the $$$$$$. :geaux:

    LSU can offer financial security.

Come on! Money isn't everything! Military people don't do it for the money! Teachers don't do it for the money!

Skip has told us again and again . . . with Nick, it ain't about the money. When Nick coaches in the NFL, it will be because he is driven to succeed at that highest level.

We can't deny Nick the opportunity to out-perform Don Shula as the best Dolphin coach of all time . . . but we can sure as hell try!

STAY NICK STAY! LSU can provide you with guaranteed financial security for the rest of your life WITHOUT excessive stress. Your father died young. I don't know why. Was it because he pushed himself too much? I don't know.

Why take the risk of dying young because you push too hard? Stay at LSU. Take the guaranteed financial security for you and your family. Live long.

The pressure of a NFL job may KILL you. Hell, you don't have to risk that.

6 to 7 million is nutball territory. Steve Mariucci leads the NFL with 5 million per year atm. Spurrier got 5 million. Butch Davis got 3 million. Bill Cower and Jim Haslet make 3 million. Average NFL salary is about 2.5 mil, what Nick makes now and I think what Belichick makes. Nick already makes more than about a dozen NFL coaches.

So when we talk about the big dough, he's kinda already there.

I do have a genuine health concern for Nick Saban since he is such a Type A+. He is setup for a coronary event. His intense emotions are definitely not good for his cardiovascular system, and I do hope for his sake he can tone down a bit. College football is pressure enough, and of course, the pros are worse. I know he has aspirations to be at the top in the pros, but at what cost? I agree college would be much better for him, and there is still a lot more he can achieve. I believe a lot of fans like him, including myself, not just because of winning in football, but the personal philosophies he teaches the players that make them a better and successful person.
