For 2 weeks we've read and heard now about how the "real Sooners" didn't show up for the Big XII title game, that somehow they were "flat" and so on and so forth. I ask you, do you really believe that after all that team accomplished and with what they had at stake to lose such as a possible shot at the NC, a perfect season, the aura of being one of the greatest college teams of all time, the possibility that Jason White might not win the Heisman and the ignominy of, after the great season they had, not even being conference champions? If you believe that your team wasn't focused and ready to play and didn't want to win that ball game with all of that at stake, then tell me what that says about your team. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!! LSU, 2003 TEAM OF DESTINY!!!!!!1
Here's my theory on the KSU game. Our players have been reading and hearing sh*t for the past month about how this might be the "Greatest Team ever in college football." It was also a given that it was the "Best Team in Sooner History." Various players are up for all types of post season awards including the Heisman. They hear and listen to this sh*t all day long. Add in the fact that we have pretty much dominated every team that we have played this year. Then you got the Mike Stoops leaving fiasco. Lastly, all that sorry ass talk about we can get into the Sugar Bowl and play for the National Championship whether we win or lose the CCG. I think our guys walked into that game thinking they could win it by just showing up. I believe they weren't focused and they didn't have the right attitude. That was not the same team that has kicked ass all season long. The fact is, we weren't ready to play and we didn't have our heads in the game. You can blame it on the players or blame it on Bob Stoops. I don't give a rat's ass. I believe getting our asses kicked by KSU was the best thing that could happen to this team. If they would have beat KSU by 30, they would have just waltzed right into the Sugar Bowl with the same attitude as they displayed in the CCG and been embarrassed as worse or much worse than KSU did them. This was a wake up call for this team. We will beat LSU convincingly. Again, I'm not trying to take anything away from KSU. They kicked our ass just about as bad as it can be kicked. Kudos to them and to Bill Snyder. They deserved the victory. We didn't. Flame away.
Mike I'm sorry that I didn't post the response that you were looking for. I don't apologize for my theory either. Care to enlighten me with what you wanted to read?
I want to read what you all think that says about your team, I don't have to agree with it. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!
I believe that can happen to good teams, but I tend to believe the Stoops move to Zona affected the team more than anything else. There was too much riding on that game regardless if OU was in the Sugar win or lose. I think KSU simply lined up and beat the heck out of OU. As for as your comment about OU beating the tigers, it’s not going to happen my Sooner friend. Consider this, many believe that LSU should not be in the sugar, LSU is not as good as their record, We’re not even the best team in the SEC, we have not faced a "D" like OU's and OU is favored to beat us by a TD. It appears to me that OU has much more to lose than LSU does, therefore we can just play all out, over our heads and have fun. You can bet on this - LSU is not afraid of OU. Like Joe Willy in 1969 said prior to the Colts VS Jets Super bowl. I guarantee victory for LSU on January 04, 2004. I want be back to eat crow, but I will be here to crow!
I don't by that. I would much rather face USC in the Sugar Bowl than you guys. You are very deserving to be there. f what anyone says otherwise.
