Learn how to accept adversity, Crip. You'll feel better. As Tigerdro pointed out, there is no reason to blast the kid when the entire team stunk up the joint. He's doing the best he can and he'll learn from this. This was his first road start and he was facing a crowd and a team foaming at the mouth, thanks in part to RJF's ill advised case of bigmouthitis.

hes gonna be a brett favre type who will always throw into coverage. i can see that already. his arm and release allow him to do so. but the spectacular plays he makes on outs and deep balls is already apparent.

hes gonna be a good one. I just hope hes not always a slow-starter.

he had the moxy to bail us out in Auburn and did it to end the first half against UF once he settled in.

his light isnt far from coming on but he will be our starter throughout his career. You can book that.

he's got something special once the game slows down for him. And it already has at times in only half a game at the plains and a lone start in Gainesville. And i was overly criticial of him beforehand but I did see many great throws and decisions many other qbs wont make often.

let the kid earn his stripes. he's 1-1 on the sec road. what did you expect.

his release/follow through on his back foot is eerily similar to favre's. perhaps i was drunk, but when you factor in he is a freshman and in the swamp i thought lee played quite well and showed he can make many throws that a lot of qb's cant do as seniors. i didnt think it was a terrible performance like many are suggesting.

Its not just about what happened last night!

This seems to be Lee's style of play.

IF he cant start hitting recievers ON THE RUN and create that big play, this team will lose 2 more games for sure.

Dont think that UGA and Bama didnt see what happens to us when you take away the run. They will take away the run and force Lee to win the game on his arm and I dont see it happening.

And I dont see how hitting a moving target can be chauked up to inexperience when thats something that every QB knows how to do.

Off hand I remeber only 2 passes that our WR/TE did not have to STOP or break stride to make a catch. What does that do????? TAKE AWAY OUR SPEED!

once had I had emotionally checked out since i assumed a loss, I was impressed with a lot of what he did. yes, many off his back foot reminded me of favre. i think he'll be fine if he can learn to shake the yips when he starts the game. then again, flynn always overthrew the receivers to begin the game.

To your first point: most people expected a three-loss season this year. Big deal. Life goes on and the Tigers will get back on track. They have too much key youth to legitimately challenge for the title again this year. See Florida last year. And then compare that to Florida this year. LSU will be dominant again...have faith.

To your second point: IF THE DEFENSE COULD HAVE FORCED MORE THAN TWO PUNTS, we probably could have won that game on his arm. See the two long scoring drives around halftime. When Florida came back and scored again, it took the wind out of the sails.

And to your third point: By this logic, any one of a few thousand high-school quarterbacks could come in a win national championships for teams in spite of their lack of defenses.

Even proven QB's aren't capable of what you are expecting from a RS freshman. Brian Brohm was a GREAT college QB that led one of the nation's top offenses in his SENIOR year, but Louisville lost half their games on their total lack of defense.

Look at Lee's stats last night.

Then look at the stats of other SEC QB's against Florida's defense.

When you score 21 with a defense that is supposed to be so high and mighty, you should at least have a decent shot at winning.

The kid's team got down 20-0, with not much fault to his own.

It was 7-0 before he even touched the ball.

Then had a drop on his 1st pass, then a receiver run the wrong rout on his 2nd pass.

So it's 3 and out and 10-0..., etc...

My point is I think people here should be more proud of Lee for not quitting and giving LSU a real chance to win the game in the 2nd and 3rd, pulling within 6.

It is not his fault the defense let Florida do whatever they wanted to do from that point on, including letting Tebow convert numerous third downs that would have gotten Florida off the field and the ball back in LSU's hands with a chance to go up for good.

Wanting Hatch or Jefferson imo is just plain suicide.

I can see it now: Hatch under center and 9 guys waiting in the box to pounce Charles Scott.

All this "he has a better understanding of the offense" stuff is crap.

He played half-ass decent against App State and North Texas. But you know what? Rice and ULL both scored more points against North Texas than LSU did. So tell me... just how well did he REALLY play?

Lee is a freshman... and he will be one all season... So he will make his mistakes.

But it's not his fault his defense gave up 51 points.

He scored 21 for LSU. Florida gives up on average 13 per game.

The stats say he did his job.

    LSU's defense didn't.

All I'm saying is that the whole "he didn't hit his receivers in stride stuff" is all stuff we said about JaMarcus when he was a freshman, too.

He turned out to be a great player

How then will your solution of putting in a guy who can not throw at all, help the running game?

    Iron-clad logic prevails.

But I get the sense that he's a JJ fan. I wasn't around here last year...too busy arguing with the kids at Sportsline. Was Crip a RP fan whenever Flynn had a bad day? Like after SC when we had 63 yards passing?

Ok since it is so unconcivable that Lee plays like a blindman during a driveby and since it seems most people that have posted here blame the defense more then the QB. Lets take a look!

    1st Pos 1:06 (Punt)
    2nd Pos 1:41 (Punt)
    3rd Pos :44 (INT)

1st Q Total Time OFFENSE was on the field 3 minutes and 31 seconds.

Average Field Poisition for Florida in the 1st Quarter: Their 40 yard line!

I wonder why the defense was sucking wind before the 2nd quarter even started!

Not to mention that 2 of Floridas scores came when they started on LSU side of the field and another score came because of the INT.

When the offense can not sustain drives to give the defense time to rest speically against a faster team what can you really expect them to do?

And Attack I meant to say 3 more loses not 2!

We can talk about this until we are all blue in the face, but I have said hear and on the Geaux Show that I was not impressed by Lee after the Auburn game, I said he neededs to work on his passing ability because he CAN NOT hit a moving target.

That was 3 weeks ago with a BYE week thrown in there. I think that is plenty of time for him to work on the routes and timing with the WRs but it does not seem to have happened. I hope I am wrong about him, I really do and I will be the first to admit that I am wrong both here and on the show. But it appears to me that this is simply put his style of play. And if it is and he cant hit a WR in STRIDE, then that takes the "BIG PLAY" away from us.
