Just got back from purchasing my very own Sports Illustrated with JV on the cover. As I sit and cry, purple and gold tears of joy streaming down my face, I reflect upon the amazing season that brought this trophy of paper and ink to be. Aint God good? :geaux: :lsug: :geaux:
I'm a subscriber who lives in Baton Rouge. I got my copy in the mail today and it had Pete Rose on the cover. I am pissed.
As a subscriber I was very displeased to receive the Pete Rose edition in the mail today. I'm off to the news stand tommorrow. :lsug:
Yes. I just got back from Wal-Mart (I mean it's 1am for god's sake) and they were selling SI and another rag that was all LSU. I bought two of both. One for reading one to put up.
Personally, I hate that SI won't take a stand on the true national champion LSU covers in the south, USC covers in the west, and Pete Rose covers most everywhere else. If you don't play in the national championship game, you cannot be national champions, enough said.
Pete Rose, get over him I can understand the SI thing, especially when you consider the LA market and the fact that the whole nation is devided on the NC issue. But to even consider putting Rose on the cover is a joke, period. He's still a liar who admitted to batting on baseball but not the Reds and Fay Vincent said that they have proof that he did bet on the Reds repeatedly. The guy is one of the biggest assh0les that ever lived and doesn't belong back in the game and the story shouldn't be a story.
SI did the right thing. Both teams are deserving of their share. It's not USC's fault that the BCS screwed up. The Sporting News "took a stand" and made USC number 1 and all the LSU fans are mad.
