He gets rolled up by 2 players breaking his leg and tearing 2 ligaments and he stays out on the field for another quarter before going to the locker room. He is pretty darned tough.
Below is a link to a good article on Joe, the surgery, and amazingly enough his intent to be at the game Saturday. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2651204
nah not stubborn hes doing what he loves...penn state has always been my second fav team in college....and I will always love Joe Pa.
I can only dream of being that tough at that age. Maybe with an extra 130 years, my surliness will translate into bullheadedness.
I've always loved Paterno, but I'm worried he's going to end up dying on the field at the rate he's going. But, yes, he's pretty tough to break his leg, then get back up!
Joe Pa has to show up to the game. He is at war with Bobby Bowden. Neither coach will retire until one dies. Bowden thought he had hit the lotto after seeing the footage on ESPN. Then he woke up and realized that his plane crashed on a remote island before he could cash in the ticket. Stupid Lottery.
