Really, if you don't see the game (or at least some of it), and you don't know anything about the matchup except the spread, you shouldn't vote.
coaches look at the paper the next day and look at final score, factor in home / away and both teams records, rivalrys.... etc... and make decision... hell i think they just vote teams up if they win, up more if they win big... and down if they lose.
If you don't use the betting line, then you're doing what we all complain about, which is awarding a team blindly just for winning, ignoring all other factors, such as home/road, point spread, etc.
If coaches looked at the stats and the score ... we trounced Ole Miss stats wise, but just didnt score pts.
So you're saying that Vegas should have something to do with what teams go up and which teams drop... final lines are award by which team is getting heavier bets on their side. Nothing to do with the actual teams
a team should not be penalized for winning, weather it is by 1 or 51. Ohio St won ugly for 2 years and was never penalized. by your logic, Auburn should drop this week....screw that it is a huge rivalry game on the road, because Bama sucks. we beat Bama by 16, so we should move up. the coach's poll is a sham, pure and simple. it is ultra political and biased, and will stay that way until the coach's publish their votes and become accountable for them. penalizing a team for a win is ridiculus.
You don't think Va. Tech is passing us up? Very impressive win and they were right on our heels to begin with.
come on now, we beat Alabama at home. Auburn had to go to Bama, in the Iron Bowl (much bigger rivalry than LSU/Bama) and they totally dominated the game and Bama had a meaningless TD late in the game (unfortunately for Auburn). No way in hell you treat a 3 point win by LSU tonight the same as a 51 point win. No way on God's green earth.
