I'm getting a funny feeling Virginia Tech might jump OSU and deliver an LSU/VT Championship Game. I do think we are in.
Outside shot that could happen. Vtech, nor LSU have to pass tOSU in the human polls to make that happen. In other words, tOSU could be #1 in both human polls and finish #3 in the BCS just like USC did in 03. Not very likely, but not too far fetched either.
Wow, I'm still up......with all the drama today (ie. miles, LSU conf. game, Pitt. and OU games) and the new Wii my son just got for Christmas I don't think I'm going to make it to sleep. islstl, what time do the polls come out?
What are the timelines on the poll results? Seems like the Coaches and Harris are out fairly early and the BCS hits around 3 central, Right?
One can almost imagine the AP will go off and do its own thing.... and there's too much logic out there to keep anyone but LSU at #2 in the BCS. So I can see another split championship like 2003... both involving LSU. And if LSU squeaks out a win against tOSU... and SoCal blows out, say, Georgia, in the Rose Bowl, look for fUSC to win another "Petey" trophy. Irony rules.
I love how people were saying that WVA losing to Pitt was impossible. After this season I don't see how anyone could say that.
Well I even knew it was an uphill climb. The one thing going for Pitt was the Backyard Brawl thing. Just like Ole Miss had no bizness beating us, they gave us hell for much of the game. I thought turnovers would be paramount to Pitt's chances. I also thought that an injury to Pat White would be the only way to have a chance (I can probably scrounge up a post on here that alludes to me saying that).
I have a feeling that Ohio State willl probably be sitting on top of both human polls with all the first place votes with #3 split so far that it will be virtually impossible for the computers to have poor enough scores for OSU to put them out. Ohio State is in. Having said that, if it were to happen, it would be soo hilarious.
Is is very obvious who the buyers of ticketreserve.com have in the national title game. OSU reserves in the 500 dollar range, LSU in the 434 dollar range, Va Tech at 76 dollars which is the original set amount, OU at 10 dollars, Uga at 41 dollars. Those numbers are pretty telling from a public perception viewpoint.
