UGA needs to bring out that old Corey Allen/Champ Bailey "tunnel screen" if they are going to slow down the LSU blitz. I have never seen a defense attack D.Green the way they did the first time. If he goes out early the game is over. Joe Tereshinski or however you spell his name will probably handle the blitz the way Shockley did. UGA will surely hope the refs are throwing flags to slow down late contact.
LOL... Greene had a touchdown against us in the 1st half that he couldn't connect on... Regardless of who the receiver was, he was open, and Greene FELT THE FOOTSTEPS, and he was off target and threw incomplete. Why? Because he was RATTLED. I don't care if you've got Randy Moss out there, if your front 4 can make your quarterback bail out of a throw or not step into it, he's going to throw floaters and/or underthrow the ball. Like Greene did on that play where he had 6 and was too rattled to hit the target...Or like the last interception, when he threw behind his receiver, and almost behind Cory Webster before Webster-who was still blanket covering the Jawja wideout-batted the ball to himself, with his off hand no less(!), and got the pick to seal the win... Your quarterback had 244 yards passing, and 93 of that came on a jailbreak big play...Before that play, he had 151 yards passing...VERY IMPRESSIVE! I'd be very securely hanging my hat on the fact Georgia outgained LSU...I'd be trying to make myself feel better. Just remember...Our defensive line is still miles better than your offensive line, and you're starting a freshmen at center-opposite a 1st team all-American. You think he's not going to feel the up the middle pressure? Get real! We have MORE team speed, BETTER corner, MORE ATHLETIC linebackers with MORE RANGE, and a BETTER front 4. Our stud defensive lineman didn't benefit from 1st round draft picks taking the double teams and allowing them to get big sack #'s...We did it the old fashioned way. We just all kicked ass and chewed bubble gum in fall camp, and we ran out of bubble gum right before the first game of the year... You guys crow about Gibson all you want. We faced a tandem of wide receivers and quarterback who are-AT THEIR WORST-your equal, in Ole Miss. They have had a better rushing offense than you have this year. We went on the road, into an environment where our players were called by racial slurs and what was the most intimidating hostile environment we've faced, and we PUNKED THAT TEAM OUT. They scored a gift that Mauck gave them early, and they scored one late. Their vaunted offense didn't do SHIT on the ground, and Eli didn't do SHIT through the air... You go puff up your chest all you want...We beat your ass in September, and we'll beat your ass again when it counts in December... You better ask Santa Claus to bring some Boudreaux's Butt Paste for Christmas, because your asses are going to be black and blue after the BEATDOWN we hand you Jawja pricks on Saturday night!
Well Fred certainly hasn't played as well as he did last year, but he has been injured the whole year pretty much except for against Clemson and he had a 50 or 60 yard TD in that one. Trust me though. If he gets singled against anyone, Webster included and he presses, bumps, or whatever you want to call it just watch.
Thats not the first time Greene has done that. I believe it is the third, starting with Auburn 2 years ago on a 4th down. You have to admit, he has an insanely incredible play action fake.
Agreed, LSU did a great job of rattling Greene. The worst part of it was the injury to his knee. He wasn't the same with that damn brace on for 6 more weeks. How many yards did Joe Montana, I mean Matt Mauck have against us before the 35 yard TD pass? This will undoubtedly be a tough task, but our Oline is much more experienced now. Hopefully they will be able to neutralize Lavalias at least some of the time. He's an outstanding player. Ok this is highly subjective. More team speed? I highly doubt that. Better corner? Maybe. Thornton did a fine job against Clayton in the 1st match, 2 catches for like 23 yards i think. More athletic LB's with More Range? Sorry your linebackers aren't even in the same league as ours. Better front 4? Yeah I'll agree with that. But not by much. Pollack is just as good as Lavalias and we get 2 linemen back including Anderson and Golston whose been out forever which is huge. Ole Miss WR's do not even compare to Gibson, Johnson, Brown, Gary, and Ben Watson another guy that missed the first matchup of ours. We had 2 WR's and our starting TE out. Not making excuses but they will cause different matchups. If you have a chance watch Gibson on the carpet last year in the SEC game. Hey Ashton Kucher I seem to recall you barely winning that game with the Rebels missing a very makeable late FG. I wouldn't called that Punked and Ol Miss is not an intimidating environment. We beat the hell out of Eli there 2 years ago. Well you didn't come close to beating our ass. It was 10-10 with 2 minutes to go. And that was in your house. With 5 of our players out injured that will ALL be playing Saturday night. But whatever makes you feel better.
Thank you Chip82 for your intellect We are hosting the "PRE-GAME LSU HEADQUARTERS" at the Peachtree Tavern. Lets think about that one for a minute....... LSU 42 Georgia 21 www.peachtreetavern.com :lsug:
OK, Buford...(LOL@ the thought of someone actually saying BUFORD out loud at someone in this day and age)... Point 1...You agree with me on...Glad that you agree that Greene is very shaky and isn't the same quarterback when he's pressured. Point 2...You make my point for me. Stats don't mean a thing...It's the final score. Your QB inflated his statistics with a jailbreak play that was a fluke. Before that, he had nothing. After that, it allowed pundits to say, "Well, he had a good day passing. The best team didn't win,". Stats don't mean jack. The final score does. Glad to see you making my job easier ;-) Point 3...You admit that we're good, and you "hope" you can do better next time...Weak...But glad you agree with me for the most part. Point 4....Our running backs are faster. Our wideouts are UNQUESTIONABLY FASTER. Our defensive backs are much quicker and much faster. Our linebackers...That's easy...Eric Alexander is a former safety. He can still book a 4.5. Yawn...Our D-line...well you may outrun us there...LOL! BTW-Our special teams are made up of starting skill position players and 2nd stringers. Our punt returner runs a verified 4.29 on track surfaces...But, wait...You're faster, you say? Pray tell, show me how...LOL! Point 5...I'll give you that their wideouts weren't as good as the one's you had out. But, their quarterback is and was better than the one you rolled out onto the field against us. Period. Point blank. End of sentence. So, either admit that you had a lesser passer with better pass catching talent, or admit that collectively, their wide receiving tandem is much more effective and efficient than your own. Six of one, half a dozen of the other, in my opinion. Point 6...You go in and get called every name in the book based on your ethnicity. Another thing...If you didn't read the hype leading up into that game, then I'm sorry. They sucked 2 years ago, and they were pumped up for this game this year, and we're LSU, not Georgia. We're their traditionally biggest rival, and it was for all the marbles. Much more pressure filled, and much more hostile environment. They expanded and improved their stadium since then, and lastly, it was Eli's first year starting that year, dumbass. He's a TAD bit better as a 5th year starting QB than he was as a 1st year starter and a RS Sophomore, don't you think, genius? Sheesh! As for us "barely" winning, their offense scored 7 points. Ours scored 17. We gave up 200 yards passing on they day to Eli Manning. He's a Heisman finalist, and he's worn a knee brace every game of his career in college. You had a preseason Heisman award winner who played like crap this year, didn't break double digits in passing touchdowns with NO running game, who you claim wasn't the same because he wore a knee brace. Lemme tell you, the good players suck it up and don't blame it on injuries, and better yet, they don't blame it on protective kneebraces for playing like crap. I'm sorry you're so apologetic. It's really pathetic, and it doesn't become you. We gave up 27 yards on the ground to that team. Total. They had -2 yards rushing in the 4th quarter. They completed two dead duck rec league softball deep flys that were total "toss ups" by Eli in the face of the rush that one had our guy fall down on, and one found our guy just not ready. We also shut them down on 3rd down on their lone offensive scoring drive, and we got called on a bullshit holding penalty on 3rd down that bailed their arses out. But, the bottom line: We got the W. Plain and simple. We beat their ass at their home stadium. Something you can't say you could do to us, can you? Point 7....Take one play away, and we beat your team's ass 17-3, and that is beating your ass. Your vaunted offense had been SHACKLED, and produced a grand total of THREE points with 3 minutes left in the game. You scored on a broken play. Then we scored on a broken play. Bottom line, your offense was PATHETIC! Our offense blew yours off the ball on our 1st half scoring drive, and scored when we had to in the 2nd half. That's what good teams do. The only thing you should remember about "our house" is that we beat your ass and sent you home with your tail between your legs. We exposed your non-existent running game, we beat your quarterback black and blue, we took him out of the game, we totally got inside your all-world backup's dome and had him so rattled he looked like a High School Jayvee QB out there. We even took your All-American defensive lineman who made his reputation off the back of Jonathan Sullivan last year out of the game. Yeah, that's right, don't admit it, but Pollack went out of the game for a large portion of the 2nd half due to injury. I've seen the replay twice now, and I also remember seeing him get PANCAKED onto his ass by a pulling Andrew Whitworth on one play. Whitworth had to pull to get to him, because after 4-5 snaps lined up opposite our RS sophomore offensive left tackle, Pollack was neutralized so badly he had to play off the quarterback's line of vision side and go up against right tackle Rodney Reed. Bottom line, we beat your team's ass in September, and we'll beat your team's ass again on Saturday...and no players coming off injury, no freshmen maturing over the course of two months, and no amount of rationalization of your woebegone team's misfortunes IN OUR HOUSE will change that... Put it in your pipe and smoke it...
