Whatcha think? poll is public. I took LSU by 1 - 7. Neither team has looked sharp, we play at their house. I look for a low scoring affair, like recent history, but a reversal of the home team winning.
hou, i honestly dont know which team will win. i would have said lsu until last night. but either way, i dont see it being more than 7 points difference.
I go with Auburn 1-7. I hope I am wrong. And I am posting this here in hopes that I jinx Auburn. I just think that in a series that is so home-dominated that it will be hard for Andrew Hatch and Jarrett Lee to break the streak when guys like JaMarcus Russell and Jason Campbell couldn't.
LSU. At least we have a strong o-line and running game. If we give the rock over and over to CScott, a few throws here and there, mixed in with some Murphy and Keiland, I think it will be enough offense to win. Our defense should certainly hold their own. The wrench in this will be special teams. We'll see, but there is no time like now to start a new streak with the visitor winning.
I'm going out on a limb, here. And I'm not confident. But I say LSU wins by 17. 1. Miles will do what is working, not what he needs to develop the QBs, in this game. So I think the offense gets opened up considerably and we see a lot more of Scott, Lafell, Dickson and Byrd. 2. I'm hoping - pure hope here - that we find some blitz packages that can pressure Auburn's QB and force him to make copious mistakes. 3. I don't think anyone holds LSU to less than 21 points this year - not even Auburn. It's just a hunch, but Crowton's offense is pretty productive and flexible. So if MSU can hold Auburn to 3 points, then I think LSU's defense can certainly hold them to 10 or less. Again - out on a limb, but I think we have a better team than we all think. Even with inconsistent QBs.
Streaks are made to be broken. Russell couldn't win a crystal football, either. But his understudy did with a "reloaded" team.
The only thing 'working' right now is Scott up the middle. LSU can bully UNT and App State's front 7's. I do not know if they will be able to bully Auburn's. Even if they get 200 yards rushing, which is a ton of rushing yards. They still need 150-200 through the air to have what we "normally" get in a game. It will be hard nosed, physical, etc... and low scoring. Like it always is over there. 2006: 7-3 2004: 10-9
