OK this isn't about who won the debate, it's about what the debate did to change things. who would you vote for now?
Bush wants to be president in order to finish what he started and to ensure the safety of Americans in America. Kerry just wants to be president. IMO Bush's strongest point was that, in order to have the respect (and fear) of the global community, they have to know that what you say is what you mean. No wavering.
Thank you....you continuously put into words what I feel SabanFan....it's a wonderful thing.... :thumb:
I don't think the debates were going to be changing anybody here's mind. Everybody pretty much decided awhile ago.
Kerry was a little more articulate but he made a major blunder when he said the USA should "pass a global test." ie. get the approval of France and Germany before we take action. We will be hearing that sound bite over and over in Bush commercials.
No kidding. Bush was like, "did that idiot really say that?" I wouldn't say Bush was less articulate. It's more a matter of his pausing to think before opening his mouth. It's a good trait to have.
You really have to be deaf to suggest that Bush was not less articulate than Kerry! Bush will never be an articulate speaker, although he has improved during the last 4 years.
To be articulate is to have the ability to express one's self easily in clear and effective language. I think that decribes Bush.
you need to turn your hearing aid up or the volume on your tv. To suggest he simply paused before speaking....well I wish that was true since he is who I am voting for. He could hardly put his thoughts into coherent sentences half the debate stumbling over his words repeatedly. Was frustratring to listen to. Kerry, however, came across as R2D2....while it sounded good it didn't seem to have any substance which is why most people will vote for Bush if in the middle. Kerry just doesn't 'connect' with Joe America. Agree with the global test comment....that would push me to vote against him right there. Let's go ask France and Canada what we should do about terrorism.
