Actually, that's not a bad reason, especially when most of the candidates have similar messages. I voted for Troy Carter for mayor because I used to work in his coffee shop. I think Ieyoub and Blossman both suck big time, but I can live with any of the others.
I'm going for Randy Ewing, but I wouldn't mind at all if Bobby Jindal or Dan Kyle wins. They're both cool. I could live with Blossman or Blanco, but they irk me a bit. If Ieyoub or Leach wins, I'm out of here as soon as I finish grad school. That will prove that the vast majority of the state's voters still don't get it. Don't know much about the others. Guess they haven't raised much money.
Dan Kyle was my Governmental Accouting Professor at LSU back in the late 80's. He was a real nice and personable guy. Further, he just seemed EXTREMELY ethical and trustworthy. He pissed off so many of the old-time politicians during his stint as the Legislative Auditor that I have to believe that he is the most trustworthy of those running.
I like Kyle a lot. The trouble is he's despised by the Legislature--unless we can get rid of all those assclowns this fall, we'd end up with another Roemer administration.
When does absentee voting begin? I am registered to vote in Shreveport but will be in Baton Rouge for school. I sent in my predential ballot too late a couple years back. I don't want to miss out this time.
Gotta support Jindal. He is probably the smartest guy in the field and has worked wonders for health care during his stay in Washington. Plus, he is from BR and went to my high school!
