I just got done watching the Lady Tigers dismantle the Florida Gators for their first outright SEC Championship. An undefeated run through the SEC. I have to say, I was so tickled to hear Pokey after the game. She is a class act. They took the game off before they could show the festivities after the game, so I listened on the radio. She sounded very emotional and just grateful to everyone. She paid tribute to Coach Gunter which was a class move on her part. You can't help but love her. You cant help but get behind those girls and love them too. They do things on the court that are just incredible. It's gunna sad the day that Tameka Johnson isn't in a Tiger Uniform anymore. The fans at the game were so great to those girls. They deserve it. Pokey could very easily develop an ego b/c of how well they have played, but she seems so humble. She might be the classiest head coach at LSU. I like how she just walks around the PMAC for mens games or whatever the case may be and she stops to take pictures with kids, shake hands, and do all the political things like that. I was kinda emotional hearing her after the game. It is great when you can feel her genuine appreciation for all she has been given and earned at LSU. Here's to a good run in the tourney.
With all the people in sports who are unlikable, it's great that there are people like the pokey chatmans of the world who are just great. She is genuinely appreciative of everything she has. I was so touched by her words. It's like the end of a movie or something. It's like when The Grey Ghost makes his speech at the end of E A-A. It just kinda gets you a little choked up. I was so happy for her. She's a class act and is deserving of all the good things.
There is no better feeling than seeing your team win a championship. That was a pretty awesome moment when the SEC Championship banner was unravelled in the rafters. It was also very special when the players raised Pokey up on their shoulders. A great team, one I was glad to see play in person a few times this year. TIme to root for them in the post-season now!
This season for LSU is a year in which Pat Summitt would be just a little jealous. There were exactly 2 games all year that were nail biters. The Baylor game, which in essense was a road game played at UT, in which LSU did have a double digit lead for much of the second half until a late surge by Baylor made it really close. The other was the Rutgers game in which once again LSU was in command with an 8 point with about 6 minutes to go, only to fall in their only loss all year. Truly dominating performance all year long. Great chemistry on this team. And we may found a secret weapon 3 point shooter in that freshman today. You can always use one of those come tourney time. Would be nice to top it all off with a SEC tourney championship. Will be an exciting run to what I hope is a national title. Pokey Chatman looks like someone I could run into at the mall and hold an extensive conversation with, without either one of us knowing each other.
Chaney is not much of a secret. She has been hitting 3's all year. I believe she's the heir to Tameka.
U are right. She needs to get a lil quicker ,but over all she's going to be good. She's leathal from the perimeter. Those were not just your everyday 3's. They def had some distance on them.
