This was in today's Reveille. Thought I'd pass it along: http://media.www.lsureveille.com/me...o.Miles.Decision.To.Stay.At.Lsu-3130360.shtml
"He told us he was going to be here through the rest of these seniors' careers, and that's one thing that made us work hard," Sanders said. I felt like this quote was interesting...
I don't understand why Miles is talking about relationships with his seniors as if that is what made him stay. Those guys are all gone after this year.
I think what he was implying was that if he took the job, he'd have likely left before the bowl game to start the new job.. Since of course he's staying, he'll be here with these seniors.
Let me preface what I am about to type by saying I do not know of any coach other than Miles I would rather see at LSU. No coach is perfect. The comments that started this tread made me think I wish Les was "less friendly" with the players and more of a disciplinarian. Maybe there is plenty of discipline within the team that we do not see, but I would like to see less off the field troubles. If I could change anything about the outward appearance of our current program, I would... Make interviewing classes for all players mandatory. Besides helping with sporting interviews it will help when they have to interview for jobs. I would do away with dread locks and facial hair I would not allow raping in night clubs nor car bouncing. Maybe I am old school. I like when guys (and girls) who are representing a university where suits and ties, speak clearly and concisely and ... as I am typing this maybe I am just getting old. Again so I do not get crushed here, I like Miles. I am a Miles guy but I am of the school that parents are to be parents. I played college ball and my head coach was a drunk and a ass hole. I love to see Miles scream he loves them into their ear hole after they win (or lose). I just would like to see less of the field troubles.
I like that Miles has the respect of all of his players. The guys he coaches would run through walls for him. As for the way the players speak, if you think this is just an LSU problem, you're mistaken. Listen to nearly any professional or collegiate athlete and you'll have similar results, if not worse. I do cringe when I hear players speak and every other word seems to be "you know" or what have you, but it's not a problem exclusive to LSU, but seemingly a problem with all athletics.
i have some relatives who would prefer an all white team as well. thank you gerry dinardo. Wear not where. I would prefer our fans spell better when representing LSU.
Let me preface this with that you are getting old. The country is not segregated anymore and football programs are rife with black culture. Rap *gasp* Bouncey Cars?? Yeah I saw them all the time when I was on campus. :insane: Verbal diaheria and ignorance was all I got out of that post.
