According to some people the stadium was dead, so how could the team feed off the energy of our dead crowd? Now, I was there and know the stadium wasn't dead and we were pretty darn loud but not everyone seems to believe that.
The crowd was dead in the first half because the team was dead. Completely flat and outmuscled on both lines. When the team started showing some effort in the second half, the crowd got really loud, for the first time this year. The defense kept them from scoring any more and the offense began posting points. It was a great game to watch right up to the last second. Nobody left early and the traffic jam post game was huge. 40-point blowouts are not nearly as much fun as a close game.
seriously, I was getting worried that i wouldn't have one of those trademark death valley heart attacks. cardiac arrest never felt so good:lsup: LSU! LSU!
I haven't heard anyone say it was dead. The crowd tried to get involved early and often. In OT, I was gvining play by play over my phone to a coworker wh is stuck in California, all he could talk about was how great the crowd sounded.
The crowd wasn't amped up until Ole Miss took possessiopn deep inside their 10 in the 4th quarter. The fans were not quite as flat as the players were but still nonetheless fairly queit until late in the game. However they rose to the ocassion with the team.
