Interesting reading everybody's take on which play or plays were the difference in the Ark. game. Some say, the entire 1st quarter since the O was absent. Some say Doucet penalty, some say failed two-point conversion, and some say the 4th and 10 play in OT. Folks, if you can't stop a fourth and 10 at home with a lead in the student section side of the field then there is no other play that cost us. What other play in that game would have won the game for lSU if not the fourth and 10?
There was a blatant bad call of pass interference on 3rd down against us early on in the second half. As soon as it happened, I said that Ark would score a TD on that drive, which they did. That proved to be the difference in the game. But then again, so did about 47 other plays.
The non-play of the game was after we answered the Arkansas TD in the second overtime. Instead of lining up for an extra point to send the game into a third overtime we could have tried for two against a sucking wind Arky defense. Convert it and we're still #1. today.
we lost the game from the first minute. not being able to score that touchdown off the mcfadden fumble was HUGE. if you cant score a touchdown with 20 yards to go in the first minute of the game then i'm sorry everybody, you don't deserve to win. that series changed the whole complexion of the game. instead of capitalizing on momentum we gave the momentum right back to arky.
I agree and was concerned when we didn't score off the momentum coming off of that. I was literally in the isle jumping up and down til I noticed my wife and kids looking at me funny. I was concerned then but when we kicked the second FG, I told my girls we weren’t going to win this kicking FG’s. After the second FG I was really concerned and the 6-7 score at half had me anxious for our second half team to come out and take over the game but I was fearing what I’d feared all week was about to become a reality. I thought the one Guilbeau pointed out in his write-up today was huge too. The 54-yard touchdown pass from Flynn to Hester and a 28-21 lead midway in the fourth quarter that was wiped because we had too many men on the line of scrimmage.
You got a problem with white people? jeez...why do you always have to make it about race? White people aren't as good as people of color? I hope you don't have kids...there's enough hatred in this world without you training more haters....we're all the same.
You're exactly right CC. You know what's ironic about it? Doucet had the EXACT same 'interference' on LSU's first drive after the Mcfadden fumble on the opening kickoff and guess what? No flags. Go freakin figure. I told my cousin after that play that if it had been an R-Kansas receiver, we would've gotten a flag thrown against us. An sure enough, just a few plays later and we did.
