I'm back in La. on leave and need some help on fishing places around the Lafayette area. I don't have a boat, which puts me at a disadvantage, I know, but I'm open to suggestions.

Can someone please help a brother out?

I'm not sure if Spanish lake still has water in it or not but I'd try there first.

Thanks, Shane. Heard from the folks around here Spanish Lake doesn't really have crap anymore.

I drove over to belle river today and caught 5-6 bass, only one was a keeper at little over 2lbs. Not bad for just pulling over along the road, as is the case without a boat. They were jumping all over the place, though.

There's no doubt Louisiana is the Sportsman's Paradise, but paradise is hard to come by without a boat. I've already got the truck and motorcycle, now I just have to add the boat. Maybe that will be a good retirement gift to myself.

I will shoot you a pm with my digits, I've got someone that will take you out if you want to go. He just bought a new boat and won't mind.

I'm not a big fan of them but a lot of guys fish from kayaks and love them. You might consider it. There's one that only weighs 15 pounds- can't remember the name.
