Anyone have kids that are picky eaters? I swear, my 2yr old never eats anything; including sweets or ice cream. I've never seen anything like it. She'll take one or two bites of her food at most each night. Then, once every 2 weeks or so, she gets really hungry and may eat 3-4 bites. I get the feeling she's already in tune with the pressures of conforming to how society wants women to look and already has an eating disorder. Thankfully, she's at the lower end of the average range of weight for her age, but I don't see how. Anyone else in the same boat?
Most kids that age are like that. Some even when they grow up (see Stacey)! I though my son was the only one but his weight and growth proved he was really healthy. We started giving him yogurts and cheeses and stuff loaded in fat, healthy fats and it all works out. Now his favorite dish is rice and teriyaki sauce. Kids eat what and when they want, just as long as they are healthy there is nothing to worry about. Worst thing you can do is try to force feed them. She will come along.
My little brothers have a lot of friends that come over and won't eat anything my mom cooks. Mainly because my mom puts all kinds of vegetables in pretty much everything. I can't imagine how empty my life would be if I didn't enjoy eating everything I saw.
Although my 13 year old son is getting better (hunger will do that to you), he is one of the pickest eaters I have ever seen. For example, he will only eat a plain hamburger, that is meat and bread, nothing else on it. He eats no vegtables.
I thought this thread was about my wife. Doesnt eat fish or any type of seafood. Hamburgers, bun and meat, some ketchup. She mostly just eat chicken and beef.
I knew that you would call me out in this thread. I'm going to call out Tirk, too. He's a picky eater--sounds like he dislikes everything I do.
I had a girlfriend once that would not try anything new without being allowed to smell it first. If it didn't smell good, she wasn't eating it. That used to drive me insane.
My daughter will eat anything. The worst her pickyness gets is something like eating the cheese off of her cheese toast and not wanting the bread. I think it has something to do with her daycare and what they offer them. I wish I had this weeks lunch menu to post, but they get things like barbecue chicken, fried liver, pork chops, etc. Along with fruits and veggies of course. I don't think they ever have the same thing on the menu more than once a month. I'm guessing that's why she eats anything. Or she just takes after me.
