That article makes him sound eerily similar to Saban, minus the classless team behavior and the score run ups.

This is a good find: a weekly web diary containing Petrino's comments and observations. This covers all the practices and the game itself.

I *love* this nugget from the Cinncinati game (at Louisville):

In another development, **the Cincinnati players thought it was a good idea to stomp on the bird at mid-field.** Our players don’t like that, and they came out and showed that they meant business. I warned the officials that they were going to do this, but no one reacted. So our players went into the locker room fired up, and came out and put together a big win.

We got the ball first. Everybody in the country goes on defense first, but not us. I always take the ball first. I want to go right down and score. We jumped on them with 21 straight points and lead 42-0 at the half.

What, you think it's classless for players to stomp on the opposing team's midfield logos? How un-Tuberville of you, Coach Petrino!

Well, you never know about AU and Tubby, but no, I'm not a Petrino supporter. I don't dislike him, I just feel he's disingenuous when it comes to recruiting prospects. You can't build a long-term, successful program without solid bridges at the HS coaching ranks.

And those bridges are aren't as easily rebuilt as they once were..... in today's recruiting landscape, you can bet there are plenty of other coaches waiting to re-build those bridges at the first possible sign of weakness.

Petrino hasn't learned that yet because he's never been one place long enough. But, IMO, he has left a trail, if you look close enough. He is ambitious though, I'll definitely give him that.

I'd love to see Patrino come coach for the tigers.. He's a guy that i could get behind. sure, he blows his gaket every now and then, but how many times did Saban blow HIS gasket? It's good to have a crazy coach, they keep the players fired up. That and we've got so much offensive firepower that he could harness it makes my mind spin.

If Mr. integrity(tub-o-chit) can build "solid bridges" to the high schools then Petrino or any other coach other than Osama Bin Laden should be able to do the same.

Someone who runs up the score and curses? I like that.....

    Is Petrino the clear front-runner?

Does the fact he was Bertman's first interview indicate the job is his if he wants it, assuming the contractual details can be agreed upon (i.e., money)? Petrino has a job and is getting ready for a bowl game; Butch Davis is unemployed and was most recently spotted at a Hurricanes practice wandering around. If Davis was the apple of Skip's eye, wouldn't he logically have been the first stop?

usually the guys interviewed first don't make the cut. hell, usually its someone not even on the list, sometimes intended and sometimes not but seems it ends up someone rarely mentioned, if at all. Skip is a different bird so maybe petrino is his man, plus he wants to get his man soon so I don't think he is messing around.

Any word on when the first of those to interview will take place??? Davis is down in Miami now, so I'd imagine that he could be one of the first.

Muschamp was merely a puppet under Saban's control. He is not qualified to be a DC at this school.

    Cheerleader, yes...DC, no.
