He would not be my ideal candidate, and I don't know how great of a recruiter he is (but recruiting is not as difficult as one makes it out to be with the right school to back you up), but there are many candidates being thrown around who are much worse. He has shown an ability to take other people's talent and kick a lot of ass with it - no reason to think he couldn't do the same with Nick's talent. If a lot of the current staff stays on board, I think recruting will not suffer very much at all. I don't want to jump on a candidate quickly just to save this year's class. This hiring is much more important than 3 or 4 kids - and also, * ratings are way overrated anyway. It is much more important to be able to evaluate talent on your own and compare that talent to how that kid will fit into your system.
Now that's what I'm effing talking about!! No surprise, since he or his agent have never, ever shut the door on moving from Louisville. I saw UL against Houston this year, and while Houston was no great shakes, it was still impressive at how efforlessly that Cardinal offense flows. Very, very impressive. Looked like men among boys.
LSU fans Man, we are are some football-obsessed mfs!:hihi: I just looked at the Louisville football forum on their local newspaper and this news is nowhere on their fans' radar screen.
Yea I went to their rivals site...and the report was posted, with 2 responses!! There is only 2 threads on the whole forum (front page) that even talk about the football team at all. No wonder he is considering other jobs :\
I thinkLSU's offense would score 70 points a game under Petrino with the right QB. Our defense just needs to stay as is............... :thumb:
Amongst many many other positives, I like the fact that Petrino is still relatively young - age 43. Keep 33 year old Will Muschamp on as the DC if at all possible with him and well... :thumb: :thumb: :geaux:
Gotta give major props to Louisville AD Tom Jurich. He publically declared that no university had permission to speak with BP "until the completion of the Bowl season." Now he ups and gives BP permission to speak with LSU? What's changed? Maybe it's the fact that he just completed a revised contract agreement with BP.....one that has a significant buyout payment to UL. All of a sudden.....BP's on the market, huh? That Tom Jurich is quite the horse-trader  I consider it amusing to hear a significant number of LSU fans criticize Tuberville's integrity and classlessness, and then suggest Petrino as a candidate.......hilarious  LSU can do much better........
