If an attorney is defending a client accused of possession of kiddie porn wouldn't he be obligated to watch the alledged porn to properly defend hs client?

    Likewise for the prosecuting attorney?

I think the moral compass of the individual comes into play here. The decision of whether or not to take the case will effectively determine the price of his/her morals.

Yes, he would have to watch it. I saw a talkshow recently where it focused on a child pornography case and couldn't show even edited parts of the evidence to the audience, it would have been a crime for anyone to watch it. But in a trial, the attorneys, judge, and jury would be required to watch it due to the pornography being the evidence.
