I'm trying to intelligently debate LSU football topics. There's no need for name calling. Remember, we're on the same side. We both obviously are passionate about LSU athletics. Goober? Florida Gators and Alabama elephants are goobers. Not a tiger.
That is ALL I want to see..is improvement each game. Last season the team that played the 1st game was the same team in the last game...there was no progression through out the season.
I'm not ready to abandon those two, but the youngsters need to start getting some PT. i thought the line got pushed around a bit in the second half. They have the quickness, but maybe not the size. I'm eager to see Brockers develop. We need a Lavalais/Wroten/Dorsey/ type of stopper in the middle that takes 2 or 3 men to block. Just remember that we got rid of the successful Mac because we thought we could do better . . . and then regretted it for 20 years. Sometimes you don't get a better coach.
That's all I want to see, and I'm giving it until about game three to see noticeable improvement before I throw in the towel. I thought the team played better in this game than last year's opening, which was totally anemic. We have a lot of things to work on. But I did see some improvements over last year...though consistency throughout an entire game continues to be a huge issue.
looking at rivals ratings from 2007-2010 the recruiting classes look like this: avg. national rank: LSU 5.75 UNC 21.75 avg stars: LSU 3.58 UNC 3.16 they ain't exactly the little sisters of the poor
Probably the wrong thread to post this question because those who can answer it aren't in the market for perspective, but... Let's say all the Miles detractors manage to convince every single visitor to this board that Miles needs to go. Then what is the next step? Circulate a petition? March on the AD's office? Boycott LSU sports and merchandise? I think it would take a lot more than a boycott by everyone here to have any effect. I'm sure the detractors would call me a bad fan for supporting mediocrity but no matter how badly LSU football performs, I will never stop watching LSU football (although the opportunities to watch may be fewer and far between), I will never stop financially contributing to LSU, I will never stop wearing or bleeding purple and gold. I will ride the ups and downs, enjoying the ride along the way.
I'm not going to boycott anything. I love LSU football therefore I will continue to watch and cheer for LSU... but right now, with no progression from '08 to now... nothing but excuses and game plans to fix the issues... but it's now obvious our staff have no clue wtf is going on. We watched the same game last night we've seen since the start of the '08 season, with sparks of a contender here and there. While I might voice my concerns and not hide my thohgts I will still continue to support LSU... LSU is bigger than any one coach, besides it's about the players and I think we owe it to them to provide them a coach who wants to win and win convincingly not settle for sitting on 20 points and then shutting down completely for the last 30 mintues.
Well said. I think we all are concerned with the second-half of the game. But I'm not gonna over things I can't control like players not executing or coaches not coaching.
