Really, i don't think he's a bad kid. I mean what has he actually gotten in trouble for? Trying to get into a casino with a fake id? Big deal, I did that ten times in college. It's certainly boneheaded and that's what concerns me more. The money thing over the winter/spring never materialized and we really will never know what really happened there but the fact is, he was charged with nothing. His "rap sheet" doesn't look that bad.
I agree that what he has done isn't that bad. The difference in you and him though is nobody gave you a scholarship worth roughly $100k to attend college with the intentions of representing the university on a football field. You also didn't have every person in the state watching your every move through the media. Its not just that he has brought unwanted attention to the school, it's that he has done it several times. This shows his decision making skills are horrible and that he puts himself before his team. These are probably the two worst traits a quarterback can have. I hope he is doing what he is supposed to do and that he has learned his lesson. We need him. Going into the season with all this talent, it would be a shame to have it all pissed away if Flynn goes down because we do not have a backup that is ready to step in.
I agree. That's what I meant when I said his boneheadedness concerns me more than anything. You are right, he's not afforded the luxury of screwing up. That comes with the territory.
In my personal experience last spring when we did some classwork together- rather, I did the classwork and he acted dumb or is dumb- he was an ok guy. I'm hoping he put the troubles of the last year behind him and moving on as is being described.
