No reason why he couldn't, but Michael Clayton (and PERHAPS Spears) both tried playing football and basketball and in an article some time back, Clayton admitted that it was just too difficult to swing both of those sports.

I could certainly see how it would be a daunting task. The basketball regular season over-laps both Fall and Spring semesters, and when you're playing good ball, like we've grown accustomed to, then you are preparing for Bowl games and bowl practices well into the early basketball schedule.

Guess it depends on the person.

Charlie Ward and Donovan McNabb come to mind when it comes to great college QBs of major football programs (Syracuse was when D Nabb was there) who also played hoops after the season.

Geez, are you guys even thinking about what you are saying?

What if he bucks the trend and becomes a two sport star?

He'll morph into a complete ego machine, upon which the weight of Baton Rouge may fold and collapse upon itself, creating a vacuum that may threaten to devour the entire planet of Earth.

I believe Mike Clayton and Marcus Spears(I know one of them was) a top 100 basketball player as well. I think RP should stick to football.

Not saying that it can't be done....but hearing directly from the mouth of one of LSU's most beloved "sons", Clayton, it's a difficult thing to do.

P-lo is what 6'2" he is too short to play bball for LSU. We like our guys around 6'6" I think he shouldn't even be playing in HS, what if he breaks his leg or something? He should be spending his time trying to graduate early and get into spring practice w/his new football team. If he was 6'5" I would say stick w/BBall but it's a waist of time. Not to many 6'2" guys in the NBA but hundreds of 6'2" guys in the NFL.

Aren't both our starting guards under 6'2"?

True true true but P-lo wouldn't handle the rock. He would be a SF.
