LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux was issued a misdemeanor summons by police Saturday afternoon, after he allegedly was stopped for trying to use his brother’s driver’s license to get onto the Hollywood Casino gambling boat.

Police were called to the casino about 5 p.m. by security and cited, Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said Tuesday.

Police cited Perrilloux, 20, on one count of misrepresentation to gain access, McKneely said.

Perrilloux was given a court date, and released. McKneely did not know the court date.

Perrilloux, one of the top football recruits in the country in 2004, currently is listed second on the LSU depth chart behind Matt Flynn.

not significant in itself, but significant in light of the pattern of his behavior and the events which transpired just a couple of months ago - no choice but to suspend him from the team for the time being

I agree. I hope this shot across his bow straightens him out. He could blow a teriffic career if he does not wise up. So far nothing really serious, but as you indicated, a lot of minor stuff can add up to a serious problem.

Does anyone know if this has anything to do with that ongoing investigation? I hope this is temporary. I understand the kid broke the law, but come on, who hasn't tried to get into a casino underage before? At least he didn't rob somebody or assault anyone. I like the notion of having a clean program, but booting a player for something as small as this is a bit much.

He is talking about the players that got dismissed from the team.

Well, its true. CLM aint playing no matter how big a star you are. ESPN just reported it. But really how many think he will stay suspended longer than a month. Not I, we have too much to lose if Flynn were to go down.
