If you, as I do, want to see the NCAA go to a playoff tournament, you couldn't have scripted a better outcome. This will give the BCS a huge black eye, and due to the fact that the high profile "Spoiled Children" of USC are involved, this will create such a furor amongst college football fans across the country that it just may be exactly what is needed to stick a fork in that abomination that is the BCS. Now, let's hope that the fighting tigers from LSU go out and do their part to beat the Okies' ass and bring home the official national championship to Baton Rouge. :geaux:

the problem isn't the BCS sadly...........

its the human polls that vote biased and all.

Probably the ABC announcers who did the game today voted
    for USC in the polls

    Phat,
I don't know if living in LA has twisted your impressionable mind, but the BCS worked perfectly this year. It pitted the two best teams in the nation in the National Championship game. Period.

Why don't the LA and OK AP voters just leave USC off their ballots??

Please, I hate USC as much or more than anyone on this board. I've got to interact withose elitist SOBs on a day to day basis. Think about this for a minute, if Hawaii wins their final game or if Syracuse loses to Notre Dame, LSU is playing in the Fiesta Bowl instead of in the Sugar Bowl. Would that make LSU a worse team than they are today? If a football team is better than every other team then their strength of schedule should not be a factor. Our strength of schedule almost sunk us this year even though LSU has probably their best team in history this year. The BCS SUCKS. The national championship should be decided on the field with a playoff tournament just like every other NCAA championship.

    I agree with Sourdough also...

The problem is not the BCS - they got it right.

The problem is the talking heads, and ABC selling out on it's priciples to promote the current game they're televising. I say it again, the 6 major conferences agreed that the ONE real national champion comes out of the BCS Championship game. The BCS conference team coaches should be bound by that agreement. AND if ABC is going to be the network of BCS games - they should not be perpetuating the contriversy.

I don't care what anyone says. This system can NOT sufficiently handle a situation where 3 teams have the same record. Saying that the two best teams were chosen is as dumb as saying the USC is now the best team in the nation. It's that kind of clear-cut, no-questions-asked attitude that we all are getting so tired of hearing from the pro USC crowd. Every one of those three teams has a good case for being in the Sugar.

End the whole damn thing and let the top teams play each other.
