Don also notes no mention of this from any official LSU source, or the Morning-Advocate for that matter. I'm sure both will be quite effusive in praise and in retrospect of Mr. Ferguson, though, when the time comes. In my mind, John will always be the Voice of the Tigers for me, no question about it. Prayers to him and to his family during this difficult time. LSU!
A friend of mine is a neighbor of John Ferguson. John went into the hospital earlier this month and is indeed seriously ill. The neighbors are worried that he may not come home this time. Mrs. Ferguson needs all of our support and prayers. John Ferguson on the radio and Sid Crocker on the Tiger Stadium PA are indelibly imprinted in my mind as the voices of the Charlie McClendon era of Tiger football.
My thoughts and prayers to the Feguson family as well. I grew up listening to John call the Tiger games on the radio. In my mind he will always be the voice of Tiger football.
Man, what memories!!!!!!!!!! God bless John Fergurson and family!!! When I was growing up, Fergurson WAS MAGICAL. I spoke to Cawood Ledford, the long-time voice of UK sports on the Kentucky call in show before a LSU-UK game and told him that he reminded me of John Fergurson in so many ways. Ledford said, "That's the greatest compliment anyone has ever paid me." :geauxtige  :geauxtige  :geauxtige  :geauxtige
