The earth is not saturated with humans like wall to wall carpet. Well over 95% of the planet's surface is completely uninhabited. Humans are no more harmful than a zit on your ass.

but co2 is normally at really low levels. so could this equal adding 10%? doubling?

what does that mean "normally"? there have times when the concentration was far far greater. the c02 in the atmosphere always changes. so does the termperature. ice ages come and go, carbon comes and goes. there is no "normal" amount.

the argument is how damaging it is to humankind, right? why cant we manage a slight difference in temperature that may or may nor occur and may or may not be preventable?

this is all uncharted terr. again, if you need proof then you dont want anything done, regardless of how potentially bad the consequences or easy the fix. good god, man. what are you? an atheist?

Exactly, most of these foundations and universities that support global warming are liberal.
We could give each other plenty of sources but we both know that isn't going to work, its either right or left.
I don't believe there are any independent sources out there.

First of all cap and trade.
There are plenty of people out there including those in government that make plenty of money off of policies that they support and they also pass.
Barbara Boxer for instance once on the VA committee, her husbands construction company made plenty of money off of her polices.
They both did a bad job btw with the reporting of how badly the VA buildings were.
Another sign of how terrible government is of running things.

There are plenty of dirty or dishonest politicians in DC and around the world.
Al Gore and Obama are no different than most.
I'm willing to bet that these people invest in their policies all the time one way or another.
Are you going to say this stuff doesn't and isn't happening?
I bet your paycheck against mine that it is and does or another steak:lol:

You are one of the biggest ones here that go after capitalism and the private sector but if its the government you seem to ignore it unless its a republican sex scandal.:hihi:

Edit: Some of the people Obama has attacked will also become rich off of his carbon tax.
This will do nothing but hurt the poor, the people he is suppose to support.

On second thought, the poor will receive a check for this so the American taxpayer will receive the bill for this like everything else.

correct, i do not want anything done. i trust our ability to fix problems as they arise. i also feel like we have needlessly and irrationally attached moral values to certain causes. as if managing the temperature of the earth is super noble but advancing the economy isnt. and i think this reveals an absurd first world bias. the poor people of the world dont give a damn about global warming. and they shouldnt. because they have actual priorities, they are desperate for the kind of economic stability we have. and that should be our primary concern as well. we have lost sight of what matters.

when global poverty and its results are solved (this means malaria, AIDS, malnutrition, slavery, etc) and the whole world lives like we do, then come back and talk to me about warming. although i suspect even then that things like obesity and paternalistic governments will be a far greater threat to human happiness.

no doubt, this is why liberalism, at its core, is an incredibly selfish philosophy. liberals want control, they want to mange and manipulate everything, with little concern about what people actually need. a liberal never wants to pay attention to what actually makes the world better. they care about what makes them feel better.

Exactly, they can control everything and get people to give up their freedom through a crisis.
That is why Ron Emanuel said Never let a good crisis go to waste.
They can manage and manipulate almost everything through the crisis of health care and global warming.
It makes me laugh when people bring up how the right wanted to control how people live because it was nothing like the left is trying to do to us.

How can someone that doesn't know any better object to something that is in the name of global warming or something that improves the planet even if it hurts or ruins lives.
People need to get educated and wake up!

They can almost control every aspect of your life here!
Look at the polls for all this health care garbage, people don't want it!
They want to shove it down our throats but we aint buyin it!
