Can't possibly call all the nonsensical penalties that go on in a football game. The refs try to call the most obvious. But those grievous ones will hurt you in the long run. Take Georgia in the SECCG. No sooner did the bulldog D-back commit a flagrant penalty in the end zone, setting Bama up at the goal, Vern talks about Richt's attitude about all the flags. Didn't think it was a problem and he was OK with them. Next play Bama scored. That score was the difference in the game. Too many penalties, not winning football. He went on the radio and confessed his deeds. I thought that was the honorable thing to do. I'm sure by this time he has been completely rehabilitated.
This has nothing to do with anything. This isn't an interview, where you have to kill time and make-up BS just to respond. When people watching on TV notice (as I implied), then that makes them "the most obvious", doesn't it?
He called into a radio show to brag about his deed. What, the actual tree killing, bragging about it or both? Yeah right
Another thread, another conspiracy. I tend to pay a lot more attention to the scoreboard. Cuts down on the tin foil expense.
I seem to remember a few Auburn games where LSU was screwed by bad or no calls. The fake PI a few years back, the Dorsey chop block, etc. And the flagrant numerous no calls against Bama in the '09 game.
Well, you see, the very topics we're discussing here happen to influence the scoreboard, jack. Surprised this requires an explanation.
Influence? No. Determines, decides, finalizes, completes, terminates, culminates, concludes, ends, Yes.
For our 2007 National Championship season we were the most penalized. The following year, Florida, in their National Championship season, were. What does this mean? I don't have an effin clue. (Bobinohio, that's for you).
