School faculty are bound by LAW to report all allegations of sexual abuse of a minor regardless of whether the information is first or second hand. Joe Pa broke the law. The following professions are bound by law in all states to report suspected abuse: Social workers Teachers and other school personnel Physicians and other health-care workers Mental health professionals Child care providers Medical examiners or coroners Law enforcement officers
