http://www.cnn.com/2003/HEALTH/12/16/morning.after.pill/index.html personally, i think this is a terrible deal.....but that is just me.
We are basically saying it is ok to be 14 or 15, go have sex, then take these and worry about nothing. you don't see a problem with this?
There's no good answer to this. Obviously, they aren't doing it to encourage sex. On the other hand, it does seem better than an invasive abortion -much earlier in the process, etc. However, it could discurage contraception. If it is prescribed, you are going to the doc BEFORE intercourse, asking for abortion help - I mean, if you are going to do that, why not ask for contraception help? What is the delay between ejaculation and fertilization if there is such a delay - if there is, that's the kind of pill we need - post ejaculation, contraception. The government is not the best entity to answer these questions.
Ann Landers once said the most effective birth control pill is an aspirin...held firmly between the knees.
I had a date with a blonde one time who tried that. I told her I had a headache and asked her if she had an aspirin.
being a responsible parent is a good solution. but this pill doesnt make parents worse, any more than seatbelts make people crash.
