Ok, I'm not one to jump on the case of these talking heads, but they just asked Mark May what team he thinks should be #2 and he said USC. Son of a b****. Are you F*cking kidding me. You peace of SH*T. So a team that barely beats Arizona and struggles with Washington State IS THE SECOND BEST TEAM IN THE NATION??????????????????? YOU PEACE OF CRAP.....HOW DOES THAT LOGIC WORK?????? OK, I have to calm down.... But come on, where is the logic in that? I'm sooooo sick of the politics in college football. I'm fed up!!!!!!
In theory, yes, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm fed up with the politics. I'm usually the one that says whatever, but this is just ridiculous.
Ill back you on being fed up with college football politics... AU may jump them in all polls after their performance this weekend anyway, But USC will lose soon enough.
I posted this in another thread, but it seems like a good topic here too. When Georgia barely scraped out a win against Colorado, they actually FELL in the rankings from 9 to 10. Even though there's no way in hell it happens, it will be interesting to see if USC is held to the same standard. If they don't fall at least one spot in the polls, it will be just another example of the politics and bias you speak of.
Remember that Auburn also struggled this week. So no way does usc fall. In espn's eyes, the "fight" for #2 is between USC and N.D. They don't even see Auburn as a challenger. Time for Stuart Scott to retire before I blow up my TV.o:
I see your outrage and I'll raise ya a notch on the outrage meter. Consider: One of those disputed calls goes LSU's way/Charles Scott actually steps on the field/Russell doesn't take that sack and I promise you---promise you---that LSU would be #2, definitely if (well, when) they beat UF on Saturday. One reason why Aubie's struggling to do so right now is the close call versus S Car. This gives the Mark May's of the world a counter to those asking about So Cal's close call(s) versus Arizona and Wash St. with a, "Well, Aubie escaped against the Gamecocks, same difference." If you have an undefeated LSU who's won all of their non-Auburn games by a combined total of 188-30, topped off with the ass-whipping that's going to take place in Gainsville, and nobody outside of Bristol would rank LSU below USC. Follow this with wins over a top 12 Tennessee and (possibly) a top 25 Arky on the road, and it's game, set, match---Ohio St-LSU on Jan 7. Consider that scenario for a sec and that'll get you at least a little red under the collar, my friend.
I don't understand why you guys continue to watch if you are going to let this stuff bother you. It's simple and it has been explained in several threads. Starting this year, ESPN is now required to pimp ABC. The SEC does not play on ABC. Mark Mays, and all the others, wants/needs a paycheck and will do as told. It's sad to see college football come to this. ESPN has such a large viewing audience and their opinions can/will impact some voters. Hell, even Fowler said he couln't vote Auburn #2 after their close win. USC had 2 close wins, but they play on ABC.
