It is my opinion....albeit a strong one at that ;)....that LSU will be off to the Outback Bowl on January 1 this year. It is pretty much between that and the Chick-fil-a bowl....and I'm pretty sure LSU hasn't been to the Outback in quite some time.

This would likely place LSU against Michigan State (another former Saban team), or Northwestern if Oregon State loses to Oregon next week (placing Ohio State as a BCS at large).

No, because the PSU MSU game was on at the same time. Does that have anything to do with this?

I personally don't see LSU losing to an absolutely beyond bad Arkansas team.

Apparently not the same one I watched! I see the Tigers playing in the Independence Bowl Dec. 28th. They will most likely lose next week and end up 7-5.

The Outback Bowl hasn't taken a West team since 1996. Tampa is a long way for LSU fans to travel.

I don't get LSU being 3rd in the West getting a New Years Day bowl.

Psulions, you got any logic to back this up?

There will not be enough bowl eligible SEC teams for the Independence Bowl...so as much as the negative nancies on this board want LSU to lose to arguably the worst team in the SEC next week and go to the next-to-bottom SEC bowl, it won't happen.

It's between LSU and South Carolina, really....and I don't really see SC going there over the Chick-fil-a Bowl in Atlanta (closer for those fans...plus it could provide a regional game for carolina teams, and LSU fans travel much better than SC)

The SEC gets 4 bowl games on/after New Years Day.

    Outback
    Cotton
    Capital One
    Liberty (I know, I know)

Plus the 2 likely BCS bids given to the SEC.

If South Carolina gets blown out next week and we roll it is a small possibility.
