Just checked out MSNBC for the picks for Sat. and the had a section on Bowl Perdictions. They perdict us to finish the year 10-2 and play Penn State in the outback bowl on Jan. 1. Joe Pa versus Les Miles What do yall think?:crystal: :geauxtige

Hell, if you guys finish 10-2, that would mean you won 8 of your last nine, with a six game win streak... and beat the Vols, Bama, and Arky... (ok, ok, Ole Miss, too).

That's at least Cotton Bowl material, if not more. My guess is 9-3 would be OutBack.

As far as Penn State goes, they could easily be our CapOne rep, if Michigan and tOSU go BCS, which looks likely.
It's November, which, in the Big Ten, means it's time for Wisconsin to fold.
The Wissies play Penn State at home, then @ Iowa... lose both and there's a three way tie for third, with Wisconsin losing all tie-breakers.

The Hawks finally appear healthy, so don't count us out yet!

  3. The Outback sounds good to me but I dont think it sounds good to them. They have a reputation for snubbing SEC West teams if at all possible. It is possible though, I remember Auburn going there not so long ago.

Outback is a better bowl than Cotton. Plus i hate the start time of the Cotton Bowl. I wouldn't mind playing PSU.

florida usually defaults to the outback if they are not in a BCS bowl, heck one year they picked an average s. carolina team. I agree that SEC West schools usually get shafted by the outback.

Penn St is horrible this season and LSU would crush them. Wouldnt even be a close game!

Was going to say the same thing. Outback is the better bowl. I wouldn't mind LSU going to the Cotton though...for selfish reasons. (I live 7 miles from the stadium) The time does suck especially with new years eve the night before. I would be nice to get a rematch with Texas but that seems unlikely.

Is the Outback a bigger payout than the Cotton Bowl?

I don't know... I was just assuming the Cotton Bowl was.

Outback is a bigger paycheck, but not by much ... $2.85 mil vs $2.5 mil.

And for those who say the Cotton Bowl starts too early, the Outback starts 30 minutes earlier.

Here is a list of all the bowl games with dates and times, payouts and tie-ins ... Bowl List

The Outback Bowl has consistently snubbed the SEC West and doesn't deserve our fans or our money. The last nine SEC representatives have been from the East...Florida (3), Georgia (3), South Carolina (2), and Kentucky.

I've received my post-season ticket request and will once again request tickets from every bowl EXCEPT the Outhouse Bowl! :nope:

I'm on my one man boycott! :usaflagwa

***Wasn't there also discussion that the SEC Championship runner-up would automatically go to the Capital One, Outback, or Cotton on a rotational basis unless selected for a BCS bowl? (I thought it was due to the Outback Bowl's previous selections and to avoid shafting the runner-up.)
