Ohio St/Michigan is a blowout I've got from January thru August to be reasonable, no since in startin early (credit to sleepy @ cybertigers)
How do we jump Wisco in this scenario? We will also not jump a one-loss UM/OSU loser. LSU does not deserve to be in the Fiesta Bowl. We have lost two games. I would be very happy with one of the other BCS bowls though, great exposure.
OK, so it's 10 steps. In step 9, the loser of OSU/UM drops low enough in the poles to avoid being an issue. Enough of reality.... 10. Wisconsin drops a nail-biter to Buffalo
Sorry to correct you.....the Fiesta Bowl is not the NC game this year.....there is the plus 1 game in Glendale after the "Fiesta Bowl" It is called the "BCS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME" So, by getting into the BCS, and not getting the Sugar Bowl...LSU could deserve to get to the Fiesta Bowl.
If LSU makes it to the SEC CG and beats Florida, you won't need #1 above. We will certainly be ahead of WVU in both human and computer polls with victories over both Arkansas and Florida. Yes, a 2 loss LSU would be higher ranked in the human polls over a 1 loss WVU. We're already right on their heels as it is. It is apparent now that WVU needs to beat Rutgers, and not the other way around. An unbeaten Rutgers would stay ahead of us in the human polls and be way ahead of us in the computer polls. Even though I think we have a small chance at getting to #2 in the BCS without even going to the SEC CG, ultimately we will need to get there and beat Florida so that we are playing that last weekend of the season to sway the human pollsters.
Wisconsin's game is only important to hurt Michigan's computer rankings, since Michigan beat them. I think the best bet may be Ohio State getting whooped at home. I think that looks worse than Michigan losing on the road. And they didn't beat Wisconsin, so that wouldn't matter.
