I noticed on the OU forum a post regarding an incident between Jim Traber and Nate Hybl. I know this is irrelevant to today, but I cannot stand Jim Traber. He does some commentary for the D-Backs and people cannot stand his fat ass. Anyway, I was just wondering what that incident was.
Last year after the big XII championship he & Doug Gottlieb made some comments about the coaches taking the ball out of Nate's hands to win the game, a quote I remember was "Nate Hybl had nothing to do with this win tonight. How can guy who touched the ball on every play have nothing to do with a win? They said this because OU ran the ball so well in the game. Quenten Griffen was our RB, he is the 4th alltime rusher for OU, he had over 200 yds I think. I think Nate had over 200 yds passing w/ no INTs. He went on to win the MVP of the Rose bowl and is now playing for Cleveland.
The thing about it too was that it was said on live tv following the game. A few minutes later our TE at the time, Trent Smith, was on for an interview. Al Eischbach, another sports personality in OKC, asked Smith point blank something to the effect of "what do you think about Trabor and Gottleibs opinion that that Nate had nothing to do with the win?" Come to think of it, I also think one of the ass-clowns actually asked Nate the same question during a live post-game interview. This was while he was holding his trophy for Rose Bowl MVP. Pretty bush league all the way around. It was a joint effort between the sports animal (local radio) and the local ABC affiliate. The ABC guys fell all over themselves apologizing. I wish I still had the email.
