I just wanted to let you guys know that I am looking forward to this football game. I really want to make the trip out but not sure yet if its going to happen. I have some family out there that id like to see. I think this football machup could be a very good one. Some of the Tiger fans on this site are very confident about their team. Not a bad thing but dont count the beavs out yet. We have very good CB's and LB's on defense and should have a good D line. Offense is kind of a concern. We need a couple WR's to step up and perform. O line needs to gel together. QB needs to be a leader and have good performances. After watching Derek Anderson against USC I think he is ready to step up and be a leader. I can respect any QB who can take a beating like he did and still have close to 500 yards passing. I would love to here any input you have on your team I cant say im a huge fan but there is a part of me that likes LSU probably because my grandfather played for LSU before he went Pro. If I do make it down for the game I cant wait to taste your food and watch a great game.

Welcome Sauer. Thanks for the info. Your grandfather played for LSU? Who was he? If so then you've got purple and gold blood runnin' through your veins. Don't try to fight it. One trip to Death Valley and you'll know Grandpa brought you home.

If your grandfather played for LSU and you have family near by then you MUST come to the game. It's an experience you'll never forget.:geaux: :champs:

Wow, that's cool. Rest assured, we LSU fans can be fairly cocky, and it's fun to talk smack. All in good fun, however. (I hope.) I don't think anyone, especially Saban, is dumb enough to consider OSU an easy oppponent. It's gonna be loud as hell on 9/4 tho. Can't freaking wait. Good luck to the Beav's and the Tigers in 04.

Well, if the rumored BCS change for 2004 is true--1/3 AP, 1/3 coaches poll, and computer rankings, no strength of schedule or quality win, and computers ignored if both AP and coaches polls agree on #1 and #2--then this game is even MORE important if LSU and USC are neck and neck, down the stretch once again this December.

The biggest and only common opponent the two have this year is Oregon St. Surely who beats OSU and by how much would be in the minds of voters, but that's getting WAY ahead of ourselves...

I want to see a 13-0 season in 2004 as much as the next guy, but damn if it isn't next to impossible to repeat (though Ohio St. made a nice run at it last year, I must admit).

I think OSU will have a very solid squad this year, but I just dont think they well have the team speed to seperate from our DBs or cover our WRs. I think, as well as many other tiger fans, that we have the best CB tandem in the nation, bar none. I dont think anyone can deny our blistering speed at WR, either. Having said that, I really hope that we beat the crap out of OSU and they become a much better team for it. I would love it for them to go the rest of the season without a loss, pounding the crap out of those bastards from USC.

You might be right about our WR not being able to get away from LSU's DB's. But I guarantee Brandon Browner can cover any WR you have. Now dont get any wrong impressions I didnt say stop any WR, but He is an awsome CB he should have no problems keeping up with your WR. I think he was only a freshman last year so he should be bigger, faster and just better at his position. Aric Williams is the other DB he is also good not excellent but Good and a senior. I included a few links about Brandon Browner for anyone who would like to know more about him.

Sauer, he sounds like a good one, and I just don't think our blazing speed is going to be the difference maker in the first game but of course we will have to wait and see. Skyler Green will be our fastest WR on the field but it's his quickness that gives him the separation, we'll see how he is being the main man this season. I'm sure OSU will have plenty of speed on the corners, the run game is what should be our biggest weapon on offense.
