- Boiled shrimp. If dentists worked on Friday I could find an excuse to go catch some crabs, but that probably isn't going to happen. A grilled bird with some bacon and jalepenos would be great, but that season does not open for a few weeks. - After that, Im probably going to steal someone else's idea if my thread doesnt bomb, which is possible.
chicken and sausage jambalaya crawfish fettucine Natchitoches meat pies (compliments of G-LSU's wonderful wife) hot ham and cheese dip boursin cheese twists my mom's excellent shrimp dip French bread
Bought a bag of leg quarters as an experiment to bait turtle traps with. They looked to tasty I threw a few in the freezer to chunk on the pit. I don't usually care for chicken on the pit but for some reason I'm craving it. Going to keep it simple. Will probably throw a small roast or brisket too so I can slice it for samiches later in the week to take to work. Not sure how much I'll even eat. I will be nervous as hell for the game. What time will it be anyway?
corndogs boudin balls, jalapeno poppers, mini meat pies duck/sausage/oyster gumbo possibly chicken and sausage jambalaya served with white beans with tasso garlic bread bread pudding lots of trainers and abita amber
We will watch it from our hotel room in Pensacola. We'll probably end up having pizza delivered. Sigh..
I expected to be traveling alone on game day, and eating a room service club sandwich. But good fortune has me at home. We are going to grill some dead chickens and corn on the cob with homemade potato salad and baked beans for dinner. Probably grill some stuffed pork medallions for finger food.
the market i go to has whole duckings in the freezer case. i try to keep a couple in the freezer for roasted duck or duck gumbo. i have one thawing now to simmer into a gumbo. duck breasts wrapped in bacon and grilled sounds good. but i cant get just the breasts, only whole ducks.
Take out the cleaver that you almost never use, WHACK, WHACK! and you have duck breasts for the grill and still have meat for the gumbo.
