For those who did not hear Saban's radio show last night. Forget LSU running the option any time in the near future and probably as long as Saban is at LSU. He hates it and hated it it when he was in the pro's. He basically did not build an option team did not sound like it is practiced much. ;)

Running a little option with Randall could give the oposition something else they have to prepare for and give LSU another option to try and get the ball moving although I would use it very sparingly. For Saban or anyone else that says it's not an option I only have one thing to say, 9 points!!!!!!!! Until this offense finds an identity and some consistancy I wouldn't take anything off the table.

He told the lady that asked after he was finished with his rant on how he doesn't like the option that he would tell JF that she wanted to run it.

Unless he is beng coy I wouldn't look for it to be ran. But he also gave some slight indication that AB could be seeing more carries.

His main reason for not running it was bc he did not want the QB's to get hurt. The option no longer is an effective weapon with all the speed on defenses now.

A healthy Skyler Green at QB, Addai at fullback, Broussard and JV at the halfbacks. One hell of a wishbone offense. Not saying that's what should happen, but it would be fun to watch for us old school wishbone fans. :D

Baloney!!!!!!! I am not a fan of the option and never have been but to say that it can not be effective because of speed on defense is nonsense, no offense intended. You can run the ball up the middle or to the outside with the speed of defenses but you can't run to the outside and then pitch it?

You can't try a little of everything

I would rather us just be awesome at about 2 things: running and passing. I think when the O gets into a rythm, and it will, the points will come.

The option gets way to many QB's hurt, it can be stopped with a good fast defense, and it is very hard to run. We have way to many play makers, though they are young, on offense to be running a option. I know it is fun to watch and I run it on my PS2 (I never used Green at QB, I will now) but it is not a viable "option" for us.

Best way for the option to work at LSU: the coach to say he hates it and won't run it and so opposing defenses don't prepare for it.

    Watch for it vs. Georgia

Thats a much better argument against the option. Like I said I'm not a fan of the option and would much much rather see us throw lots of short high percentage passes on first and second down and pound the ball when necassary. That would open things up down field and keep us out of third and long. However when you're struggling the way we are especially in the passing game anything that moves the ball, gives the defense something extra they have to prepare for and puts some points on the board is fine with me. In the perfect scenario the OL would start blocking better and one of our QB's would finally be able to hit the side of a barn with a hand grenade. Hopefully that will start this week.:hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :geaux: :lsug:
