What is everyone's take on sophmore outside linebacker Darry Beckwith, #48. I personally think he is going to be a huge asset in the near future for LSU's defense.

So far Beckwith is shaping up like NFL material. Highsmith was supposed to be the star at linebacker this season and he has done well. But Beckwith has upstaged him a little.

    Welcome to the board.

what most dont know yet is he may be the fastest guy on the defense as well as some of our running backs. Plus, he has the instincts of a ray lewis it seems.

combine those things and we have a star in the making. the near future is now.

He's a beast. We'll be hearing his name a lot this year and years to come.

I was just trying to see if everyone had the same opinion as me becuase I played high school ball with him so I tend to be biast. I would have to agree he is lightning fast. I watched him run a 4.45 at a good 230 pounds.

He has looked sharper than Highsmith in both the 'Zona and Auburn games and he's tied for 10th in tackles-per-game...... and still averaging 1.5 sacks on a defense that spreads it around.

    ....... and he's a frekin' Sophomore :dis:

You've got a winner in Beckwith, but I like Highsmith's leadership capabilities.

He has a great work mentality and really produces on the field. He is certainly All-American material. Ditto for Glen Dorsey.
