"Politic-ing" for votes. Right or Wrong

  1. Right: System is imperfect, so it's ok.

  2. Wrong: Sends the wrong message and is in poor taste.

"Politic-ing" for an AP or Coaches vote. Is it right?

I heard from an ESPN talking head (so take the source with a grain of salt) on their college radio program that TT was working the phones this weekend trying to influence media members and fellow coaches to vote Aub. up in hopes of making the Orange Bowl.

If this is true, I wonder if it's even within the rules to do. How do you feel about him doing this? I remember Coach Saban last year saying something to the effect of "we've done everything we can do on the FB field, now it's time to let the chips fall where they may".

I guess others will say that since the system has flaws, coaches have to do whatever they can to get their teams to the NC and working the phones trying to influence voters is acceptable. Personally, I think this appproach is wrong. What are your thoughts?
