how strong Bowe played in the early part of the season then he fluttered down the stretch. I have faith he will be more consistent next year.
Why start next year, how about this next game. :thumb: Hopefully the quaterbacks and recievers can get on the same page because that is the only question mark next year.
In the middle of the season he had some personal distractions, I think sickness in the family, that may have caused him to lose his concentration. Saban made some comments to that effect. Later in the year he must have lost some confidence and pressed too much.
As mentioned earlier, We have one more game. There are plenty of weeks to practice and get the passing game kicked up a noth. JR started to aim the ball late in the season after throwing a few int's which hurt his performance. The slump that Bowe had was probably not only in his pass catching but also in his route running. Everything should be in order for the final game of the year.
Upsetting things about the 2004 LSU season: 1) Inconsistency at QB 1a) Justin Vincent 2) Inconsistency of OL as a unit 3) Fumbles 4) DB play 5) Inability to beat inferior competition decisively 6) JR's lack of development, in fact regression throughout the 2005 season Exciting things about the 2004 LSU season / glimmers of hope for 2005: 1) Inconsistency at QB opens the door for RP to possibly commit 2) Entire OL / backfield could possibly return with Carey being given an extra year of eligibility, Whitworth/Niswanger/Livings all juniors 3) Entire receiving corps will return 4) Undefeated at home for the first time since 1972 5) Possibililty of third 10-win season in last 4 years, 4 straight New Years Day bowls 6) Encouraging play from Ronnie Prude and the arrival of Sammy Joseph, along with the stellar play at Safety along with Mario Stevenson and Chevis Jackson ensures LSU of having stability at the DB positions regardless of the departure of their two senior CBs Things, I'd say overall are looking good in Tigertown!!! :thumb:
I'd say you're correct. About the only think possibly keeping LSU from a top 3 preseason ranking are questions at QB (USC, with the untested Matt Leinart, a roster loaded with talent and coming off a very strong 11-2 finish in 2002, began 2003 ranked #8).
