Receivers blocking downfield on these pitchouts wide to Ford on the edge.

The Bama LBs are fat and slow and if we can keep our blocks on their DBs we can spring Ford for a huge gain, and possibly even a long TD.

Ford should get 8 to 10 of these option pitches on the edge. Instead of 5 to 8 yards gained, it could easily be 20 to 35 yards.

    THE FOOTBALL

We have to be able to get the football to the runners . I am not sure you will see many opton plays , what we will see is a few QB scaks if we try this . The little 2 yard losses like the 1st game . We will haveto be able to throw the quick 5 to 10 plasses to the outside . Only then will our running game be a factor .We can not win if bama keeps 6 or 8 in the box .

JJ WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE GAME OF HIS LIFE .

That's a good call. I also think that downfield blocking can add up to BIG yardage for short dump passes to Peterson, Clement, and even Stampley and our FB and RB.

Sounds solid. Been watchin the Nov. 5 replay this weekend and Ford was able to get the edge often enough.

Yes, as in quick, safe passes - especially early. Don't think my heart will be able to handle it if JJ gets that disoriented, "where the hell am I and what the hell is going on" look on his face that can show up sometimes.

You talk as if Bama is putting up 30 points on us tonight.

Definitely. I watched the replay of the Nov. 5th game last night, and OBJ and Shep had some problems blocking. James Wright and Jarvis Landry did a great job as did Randle.

I'd like to see Landry catch one tonight. You know, a surprise......... let them focus on RR and hit Landry on a out and up to the back side of the play. I think Landry is going to be a beast for us next season all around.
