Not sure where they are getting these numbers, but its pretty interesting. Notably the $778k reported for Evan Stewart at A&M, $692K for Spencer Rattler at USCe, among others. https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/consensus-team/football/2022/
For those interested here is the link and the overview of these guys NIL numbers. There is much more detail in the link https://www.on3.com/news/about-on3-nil-valuation-per-post-value/ "The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time. The NIL valuation is comprised of a number of dynamic data points that focus on two primary factors – an athlete’s social media presence and their level of athletic performance. A base valuation is generated from the number of followers on each social media platform an athlete has (Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok). Each platform is weighted differently based on the number of marketing dollars that brands and advertisers typically spend on each."
No one noticed that this site has Shareef O'Neal ranked 3rd in its valuation? https://www.on3.com/nil/rankings/player/nil-100/
Damn, 4.6M followers. So see, this is how this is supposed to work, imo. He has value because he has a huge audience, because of who is dad is, etc., but not necessarily because of his ability. A company could actually benefit from his endorsement, but no one is going to pay him $2.2M based on his basketball ability.
Olivia Dunne is another good example. ETA - Not that she's not good, I think she was an All-American as a freshman.
Brennan probably isn't going to get as much as Rattler. But LSU will go at least 8-4 next year, whereas S.Carol will be lucky to go 6-6/7-5. Keep pissing away money, S.Carol boosters!
