We used that one a few times. It somehow always worked and our team did it for years with a ton of other ones like it.

My HS team tried a great trick play when I was playing. On the kickoff, our kicker lines up to kick it deep and while running up to the kick he falls flat on his face and the player next team runs up and kicks an onside kick while the other team is craping their pants from laughter. Worked to perfection but I was worried someone on our team would start cracking up before the play started.:hihi:

That is good...I've seen something similiar with motion along the line at the kickoff and two players running into each other. Colliding with a bit of theatrics and the on-side kick to the opposite side.

We used something similiar to that in HS basketball on inbound plays underneath the basket.

Here is another that always worked. Everyone on the sidelines would keep their helmets on for a series or two. We would call a timeout and only send 10 guys on the field. The remaining guy would stand behind the line of scrimmage barely on the turf with his arms crossed blending in with the rest of the team. Snap the ball and he is all by himself running down field for a pass.

I would turn off penalties in NCAA and kick it way short on onside kicks when the game first came out.

And that's my experience with trick plays.

Nah man, you gotta kick it straight up, and all the way to one sideline. Then have one guy drill the receiver calling a fair catch, so your entire team is tere to recover it.:thumb:

I think this one is illegal now too. I remember our team trying it in high school and getting a penalty. I couldn't tell you what the call was but I know it was for that specific kind of play, and I was the guy on the sideline.

I'll have to admit, though I'm not real happy to, that the trick play Arkansas pulled on us last year was as well planned and conceived play.

    Did you guys catch that?

Center on the ball with the QB, the other 9 in a small "huddle" type formation on the sidelines. Quick snap, screen type pass and the receiver had 8 blockers in front of him. What killed me was they got away with it with no penalty. Again, well thought out considering they lined up, even without what we would call a formation, and had the requisite number of players on the LOS.

It was good for 30+ yards.
