Since we are no longer defending SEC champions I did some thinking on what is in store from a big picture perspective in the SEC next year. It seems Auburn is the team to beat next year. As much as it pains me to say that, that team has come on as of late, similar to the way LSU did last year. However I still believe tubby is not the man to take them to the next level which is to win an SEC title like Saban did, however I have been wrong most of the year so I will give the Nod to Auburn being the team to beat. With the Cadillac and all that depth and the recruiting classes. They are going to be very solid. Maybe their fans can learn to win with Class, that I do not predict. Alabama - Well who knows with them, personally I think Price will be a failed bit, he is a Pac-10 Northern Guy, (yes I know Saban is from W. Virginia, but that is not Pac-10 Seattle area stuff) he is in for a suprise when he comes to T-Town and sees what Southern Football is all about. Bama has Talent Brodie will be a great QB, but I believe the effects of what happened will begin to be felt. We all hated Fran but he is a great coach. I say they will be an Ole Miss team next year, will win some games beat some teams they will be dogs in and get beat by teams they should not lose to. Arkansas - Well with the NCAA setting up shop, the real pigs showing their colors in the SEC Title game, and Bowl game I consider them a non-factor next year Ole Miss - Eli stays decent team, Eli Leaves hello MSU Miss St - Well Miss St, dont know what else to say. Then US - Well I think we will be in the thick of things again. Few balls fall our way and we are back in Atlanta, our schedule over the next two years sets up nicely for some good season. Time will tell but with Saban at the helm, I would never rule LSU out of SEC title contention. Our Offense will be better (Assuming healthy unlike this year) Clayton will become nationally known. Time will tell. I feel good about LSU for the next several years, I predict no national titles or SEC titles (although not ruling them out), but after this year everyone will be writing us off again. I wont, I think we will be a great team for years to come. In the East - Georgia seems to be the force there now, Tennessee seems to be coming back to earth and Zook wont last until the end of next season. USC - Great fans, but 6-5 seems logical. UK - Same as Bama, glad we are not playing them, but the effects of NCAA will start to take hold. Anyway My two cents, I think Auburn is the team to beat with LSU right next to them, with Alabama and Ole Miss ruining a few Saturday nights for many of us. Miss State being all of our homecomings..
Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, all the same thing I should have said from up yonder to cover my bases.. (I will edit my post and repair, my apologies to the great Saban. Like I said what do it know.)
True, Auburn is the team to beat in the west. But they have to play at our place this year. Maybe they won't bring many fans since we urinate on them, burn their cars, curse their grandmothers, and throw whiskey bottles at their children. Bama will be tough again, but their scholarship reductions will begin to start hurting them. That is if they stave off the death penalty. Arkansas will be strong but inconsistant again, we can take them. Ole Myth and State will bring up the bottom in the west. East opponent Florida will be tricky, but they have to play at our house too. LSU can win the west if we can beat Auburn at home.
